April 3, 2011

Hello there Family, I bet soon you will up and ready to make sweet rolls and watch conference and nod your heads a bit during the afternoon session. AAHH those were good old days.
Well, be grateful you can watch conference. We will have two sessions of conference in the branch next Saturday with a lunch break in between and then do the same on Sunday. They announced today that if you wanted to eat, bring food. They will have a session in Russian on the big screen and then a session in English maybe in the RS Room. The tome difference here is way big and we also have to wait for it to be translated for the branch. They originally scheduled it for the 17th of April, but now are saying it will be done by the 10th. We were so excited to hear 3 new temples to be built, but we do long for one in Russia.

Here is something to think about. Your dad is the ONLY high priest in this entire city. When we were assembled with the other senior couples at the mission home, all 8 of the high priests in the entire mission, larger than the US were in one room, and they were all from United States. Because there are no wards or stakes in this mission, there are no stake presidents or bishops and consequently no high priests. As we learned about the priesthood in Sunday School Gospel Doctrine class, I realized that this was yet another thing I took for granted.

As we finished reading the book of John this last week, the last verse of the last chapter said that if all were written about Jesus Christ that could be written, there would not be enough room in the world to contain it. I know he knows us well, by our names. How well do we know him and what all his names stand for. As you watch conference, write down all you learned and understand about Jesus and each of his names, Jehovah, the Redeemer, the only begotten of Eternal Father, the Savior, the Lord of this earth, Alpha & Omega, the great I Am, the Messiah, Jesus the Christ. I have certainly come to know him better through being able to study and observe his workings here in Russia among those that are humble and want to know more of him. It is amazing that many do not even know of him. I just want to shake my head and ask "What? You don't even know about Jesus? Where is your mother or your grandmother? Or any parents?" I taught the Lee family to pray last week and they are trying it. . . that is good news!

Our love to you all!!

Ma & Pa
