On this side of the wall, there is a mass grave of the 100+ citizens that were taken down at the time of the country's revolution in 1917. This began the end of the rule of the Czars and the beginning of a new era of government. They honor these patriots and also have a tomb of the "Unknown Soldier" here. This day, there was a procession of officials and people that dropped red flowers at this site and there was a changing of the flowers and guard every hour. It was good to see how much they honor their fallen soldiers. There were 27 million of them in the 1900's. It was solemn and reverent.
